Though you might not realize it, dry compressed air is used in every unit in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Applications
Problems
A major problem in compressed air systems is the presence of water, dust particles, oil (lubricated air compressors introduce oil particles) and solid contaminants, which can adversely affect air quality.
If moisture-laden compressed air is used through pneumatic tools and machines, it may lead to the following problems :
The majority of pharmaceutical products are highly hygroscopic and tend to suffer physical, enzymatic, microbiological, and biochemical deterioration after coming in contact with moisture-laden compressed air.
Containers require reliable clean-out and evacuation to meet stringent quality standards.
Delair offers a wide range of refrigeration and adsorption dryers that remove water/moisture, dust particles, oil (oil particles are introduced by lubricated air compressors), and solid contaminants from compressed air.
Delair Dryer operates on the method of cooling the air to a near freezing point to remove the moisture and reheat it to approximately 10°C below the incoming compressed air temperature at nominal conditions.
The Dryer is based on the principle of heatless regeneration and the physical properties of the desiccant to adsorb and desorb water vapour. It uses the pressure swing principle / purge air to regenerate the desiccant bed.
Delair also offers Pre Filters and Oil Filters, which removes dust particles, oil particles and other types of solid contaminated present in dry air.
Compressed air is used across pharmaceutical production and packaging operations. Common applications include lid sealing, capping, container feeding, liquid filling, blister packing, labeling, printing, conveying tablets and capsules, bottle cleaning, spray systems, and aseptic packaging.
Moisture and contaminants in compressed air can affect pharmaceutical product quality in several ways. Moisture may change tablet-coating colour, contribute to blisters or tablet breakage, and react with certain chemicals. Dust can also be problematic during powder-coating processes, while hygroscopic pharmaceutical products can be particularly sensitive to moisture.
When wet compressed air enters pneumatic equipment, it can contribute to sluggish or inconsistent valve and cylinder operation, corrosion in pipelines and components, and equipment malfunctions. These issues can increase production downtime and maintenance costs, while exposed air lines may also be vulnerable to freezing in cold conditions.
Delair provides adsorption dryers to remove moisture fully from compressed air, along with pre-filters ,Fine filters and oil filters for dust, oil, and solid contaminants. adsorption dryers use desiccant material and regeneration to achieve drier air for applications with higher air-quality requirements.
